‘Heech in a Cage’ by Iranian artist Parviz Tanavoli (currently housed in The British Museum).This work brings to life the Persian word Heech which means ‘nothing’.

The concept of ‘nothingness’ plays an important role in Sufism (the mystic branch of Islam).“It is not life that amounted to nothing, but rather nothing which brimmed with life itself”. In Numerology the zero or no-thing also plays an important role as it represents the potential that everything comes from and ultimately returns to.“That which will be whether there is universe or not, whether there be Gods or none “
