The year 2025 was the end of a 9-year cycle which may have been dominated by internal change. Poised between beginnings and endings, we had the opportunity to share insights and knowledge gained over the previous 8 years of the cycle, so these could be carried forward into the next 9-year cycle. The year 2026 may be dominated by external change, if this new thinking results in new shared actions and initiatives.
The number 25/7 (from 2025) represents a potential ‘Birth of Consciousness’, with new thinking (5), born of emotion and sensitivity (20), encouraging us to trust our inner voice (7) and respond in new ways.
The number 26/ 8 (from 2026) represents ‘Lord Karma’ and encourages us to take responsibility for the wellbeing of others (6), as everything is brought to the surface to be looked at.
The 8 represents constant movement, destroying, rebuilding and re-evaluating. Breaking down old structures, to bring in the new. Any misuse of power or knowledge will have to be faced.
The challenge, represented by the 9 (from 2025) brought the potential opportunity for us to stand back from situations, letting go with love everything that no longer serves us. We had an opportunity here to choose what we take with us into the next 9-year cycle.
The challenge, represented by the 10/ 1 (in 2026), brings a potential (0) rebirth of spirit (1) into matter. This new 9-year cycle brings many opportunities for new beginnings, and for us to act as pioneers ‘walking our talk’. The zero here represents potential and connects us with the pure eternal source of everything, including ourselves. This brings the opportunity for new thinking and new solutions to be found.
In 2025, the number 27/ 9 (20 + 2 + 5) encouraged great spirituality (7) to be born of emotion and sensitivity (20). This may have resulted in ‘wisdom from feelings and emotions’.
In 2026, the number 28/ 10/ 1 (20 + 2 + 6) represents ‘the will to deliver the new consciousness’ and encourages re-evaluation (8) born of emotion and sensitivity (20). After the initial emotion, this brings the potential for courage, with the attitude ‘who dares wins’. Many new beginnings could result from individuals finding the courage to embrace change and trust this process. Ultimately standing alone in their truth.
In 2025, the number 45/ 9 (20 + 25) also encouraged new thinking (5) around existing structures (40). This could have been a turning point, if potential new structures that benefit everyone were envisaged and communicated.
In 2026, the number 46/ 10/ 1 (20 + 26) encourages us to take responsibility for the wellbeing of others (6) and for the wellbeing of our planet, our ‘existing structure’ and our shared home (40). This brings the potential for us to connect heart to heart (6) with ourselves and our environment.
This responsible action could be withheld through fear and selfishness, but the potential remains for us to form true heart to heart connections, between ourselves and our planet, that change everything.
There are industries that would no longer exist if enough people took the time to stand back and reflect on the fact that we always have a choice in how we respond. Trusting our inner voice, not just the narrative we have absorbed or repeatedly been told, could empower us all. Rather than make us feel isolated, these new realisations could empower us and connect us to many.
As illustrated above, the words ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ have the same 26/ 8 energy at their core.
The word ‘right’ has a 9 Soul Urge or motivation as well as a 9 first letter, (the sound of the first letter carries on through this word). This 9 encourages a ‘selfless humanitarian’ approach with greater understanding and tolerance. The ‘Overall Self Expression’ (OSE) 35/ 17/ 8 promotes the communication (30) of new creative thinking (5), after looking within to ‘seek out our truth’ and getting to the bottom of things (17/ 8).
The word ‘wrong’ has a 5 first letter and OSE (32/ 14/ 5), this encourages restlessness and a great need to talk. The 14/ 5 wants security and stability (4) as well as freedom (5). There is a great potential to waver between different opinions and to be indecisive when we react to our environment, without taking time to reflect. There is also the potential for ‘love wisdom’ to be communicated (32/ 14/ 5), if time is made to listen and reflect on the impact of our decisions and the patterns that are becoming established. The Soul Urge or motivation (6) encourages idealism and an unending search for perfection and harmony on the outside. This same 6 energy could also encourage us to make changes on the inside, taking responsibility (6) for the wellbeing of others as well as our planet. It all depends on the individual’s motivation and focus.
The key to 6 energy is to take responsibility for finding the harmony within, so that this surrounds you. This could mean, after initially focussing on getting every detail right on the outside ‘to make the harmony happen’. We focus instead on making changes on the inside, that allow us to be more receptive and ‘to see the beauty without the perfection’. Finding the peace within, so this peace and harmony is reflected back to us.
The fact that both words have the same 26/ 8 energy at their core, helps us to ‘get things right, by getting things wrong’.
The 8 energy is constantly moving and re-evaluating, it brings everything to the surface to be looked at, so a decision can be made about whether to take something with you or let it go. Any ‘unfinished business’ we try to keep hidden will come back amplified and we will be forced to look at it and deal with it. As a result, next year we may become more aware of the impact of our actions and the patterns that have become established. This could encourage us to take greater responsibility for our actions, as the 8 continually brings us back to our centre, to find balance.
Moving forward (as illustrated above), from the 17th of February 2026 to the 5th of February 2027 we have the year of ‘The Fire Horse’ in Chinese Astrology. This is one of the most extreme combinations in Chinese Astrology and only happens once every sixty years.
Sixty years ago (in 1966), Mao Zedong launched the Chinese Cultural Revolution, which lasted until his death in 1976. The Vietnam War also escalated, triggering mass protests, the fight for civil rights intensified and cold war tensions peaked.
History shows that when structures fracture, turning points result that can’t be undone. When ‘bubbles of illusion are popped’, how we view our reality can change and the established world order can change as a result.
This is the pattern of the ‘Fire Horse’. This horse waits for no one, representing speed, rebellion, movement and independence. The ‘Fire’ turns this into intense heat.
The ‘Fire Horse Year’ this year also begins and ends with an eclipse, (the 17/02/26 Solar eclipse in Aquarius, then the 06/02/27 ‘Annular Eclipse or ‘Ring of Fire Eclipse’). This brings a double fire energy, which can be especially intense and immediate.
As can be seen in the above illustration, the words ‘Fire’ and ‘Horse’, as well as the date 17/02/2026, all generate 29/ 11/ 2 energy. This represents ‘the birth of light’ after what may have felt like a very long dark tunnel. ‘The Birth of light’ has the potential to ‘reveal the wisdom of the Soul, hidden deep within the emotional body’. Encouraging us to again extract the wisdom (9) from all that has gone before and to get past our emotional (20) fear of rejection or of not being good enough. The number 11/ 2 gives us space to connect with spirit, inspiring us to think in new ways, with greater breadth of vision.
The date 17/ 02/ 2026 begins with 17/ 8 energy, this encourages us to seek out our truth and to get to the bottom of things, with the 7 of spirit influencing the will of the individual (1).
The number 82/ 10/ 1 (illustrated above from the day and month) encourages ‘the will to implement the wisdom of the new consciousness’. With ‘love wisdom’ (2) being born of continual re-evaluation of the ‘get on with things’ approach (80). We may have to face things we may prefer to keep hidden, but new beginnings (10/ 1) could result from this.
The number 28/ 10/ 1 (illustrated above) from the year 2026 (20 + 2 + 6), represents the result of actions taken. This constant re-evaluation (8) brings up lots of emotion (20) and self-doubt, but potentially also encourages great courage and ‘the will to deliver the new consciousness’. Again, new beginnings (10/ 1) could result from this.
In Chinese Astrology, the ‘Fire Horse’ symbolises freedom over fear, bold leadership and the breaking of old cycles. Freedom, truth, movement and vitality are constant themes.
In Chinese Astrology, the ‘Fire Horse’ follows the ‘Year of the Wood Snake’ (from 29/01/25 to 16/02/26). This year has brought less scope for action, and we may have had to focus more on doing our inner work. The ‘Year of the Wood Snake’ encourages us to stay grounded in our reality and connected to the earth. Focussing more on what is practical, cultivating patience and adaptability.
In the period before the ‘Year of the Fire Horse ‘ begins, we have an opportunity to clear emotional clutter and to set ourselves clear goals, giving us the freedom to truly empower ourselves as individuals.
It is interesting that the element ‘Fire’ is represented by the number 1 in Numerology, as the overall ‘upgrade in consciousness’ we are experiencing can be defined as a shift from the 1 energy dominating to the 2 energy dominating.
The 1 energy, represented by the fire element, is a masculine energy, which has to lead from the front. Acting as an ‘unstoppable generator/leader/pioneer’, those influenced by 1 energy are often characterised as focussing on one goal, with one way of doing things, oblivious to the impact of this and who ‘won’t be told how to do anything’.
The 2 energy is represented by the water element and is a feminine energy which prefers to lead from behind by acting as a diplomat, facilitator, and peace maker. Those influenced by 2 energy are often characterised as focussed more on the needs of others, wanting to take everyone with them as much as possible.
Up until the year 2000, everyone on this planet would have had a 1 (and an 8 or 9) in their chart due to the century they were born in. The year 2000 brought in new 2 energy as a constant and growing influence for the next thousand years. This also brings a great potential (000) for completely new creative thinking, directly connecting us all to the eternal source of everything, including ourselves. Collectively not having the 8s and 9s in our charts will also result in less of a continual review and revision of the old ways of doing things, instead we will have the potential (000) to build again, this time with love (2) and pure eternal potential (000).
This new potential (0) remains a feature of every year until 2111 and 22/ 4 energy will also remain a feature of every year from 2020 until 2029.
The number 22/ 4 represents the ‘Master Builder’ in Numerology, ultimately building with ‘love/ wisdom’ and is also formed from 2 x 11/ 2. The number 11/ 2 represents us having the space to directly link with our source, allowing us to be guided, if we can be strong emotionally (2).
The 22nd card in Tarot’s major arcana also represents ‘The Fool – jumping off the cliff with just their truth and their love’, while the lynx tries to pull the fool back into the world of illusion, (Tarot comes from Numerology).
In numerology, the number 22/ 4 can also represent ‘sitting on the fence’, observing all the games and illusions being played out and not wanting to ‘join in the game’.
However, with the number 26/ 8 acting as a driving force this year, we are already witnessing everything being brought to the surface to be looked at.
Existing structures (or institutions, constitutions, alliances, established protocols etc) are all being tested more than ever before and many are being persuaded to come down from their fence, to take action and for their voices to be heard
The results of extreme of self-interest, greed and stupidity are being witnessed.
This could be viewed as the last vestiges of the 1 energy being determined to lead as before. Holding on too tightly to structures that have gone or are going.
In these perilous and unprecedented times, the breakdown of old structures is being accelerated and is waking us all up.
This energy is encouraging the strengthening of local communities, enabling people to stand together and march together, for their future and those of their loved ones. Each finding their voice and waking up to their great potential within.
Anyone aged 26 or under may feel a greater connection to our shared pure potential, responding in new ways with new creative ideas and solutions. They are here to work with and us, to build the new structures that are coming. We need to support and encourage them to show us new ways of doing things, rather than encourage them to fight for the old structures which will not apply to their future.
When systems fracture, history shows that people rise and the more together we are, the greater our impact.
By taking care of ourselves and each other, we can strengthen our connection to our neighbours and local communities.
We must seek to stay aware of our world whilst limiting how much fear we consume, so that we are more able to help shape what comes next.
I would to close with a quote from Nichiren Daishonin, a 12th century Japanese monk and philosopher:
“If the spirit of many in body but one in mind prevails among the people, they will achieve all their goals, whereas if one in body but different in mind, they can achieve nothing remarkable”.
